Humbled

Humbled

A Poem by Gaige

Glass walls that surround
Shattered with a single stone
Inevitably they all come down
Sitting on a throne
Cold and profound
A humble king
Clutching an apathetic crown

Crippled and alone again
Within a circle of innocence
Made by careless words
Caught in whispers of defiance
Lost on deaf ears
Ignoring the pleas of the silent

Guilt and anger
Drowning childish laughter
Rendered of flesh and bone
Defined in frozen voices
Desperate to find
Feelings of home

great imagery. there are wisdom in these words. goes to show that those who ride on their high horse are also vulnerable and not impervious to being 'shattered by a single stone.' great piece.
