Lonely Avenue

Lonely Avenue

A Poem by Gaige

I've walked streets

Lined with empty houses

Like hearts that once held dreams

Admist fields of forgotten flowers

Wandering groves of sorrowful trees

God have you finally found me?

In this endless game of hide-and-seek

I wonder if life is truly what you make it

I wonder if one day life will let and let be

We are the music

We are the colour

To a song we can't hear

To a painting we can't see

The line " I wonder if life is truly what you make it" reminded me of a quote I like and think is very true - "Our attitude toward life determines life's attitude toward us." ~ Earl Nightingale. (Just thought I'd share that...)

Anyway, I like this piece. I really loved the first five lines - the images and feeling they hold really stood out to me...
Nice work here.
