Jacket

Jacket

A Poem by Gaige

Even after all this time
I think of you beautiful
When I look upon the moon
Longing for nights we shared
I imagine your blue eyes
That I became so lost in
I wonder, are you cold?
Would you borrow my jacket like always?
Could I take it home
With your scent trapped in its fibers
And use it as a pillow
Just so I could dream of you
I'd let that scent captivate me
Use it as an escape from the sweet sorrow
Parting left me with
I could find sleep
With your essence beneath me
And imagine the next time
We would meet
Outside of this fleeting dream
