Shipwreck

Shipwreck

A Poem by Gaige

illuminated by seams of deceit
decrepit sleep finds me in dreams
failing faith won't let me believe

wishes slip beneath sun swept waves
in ocean-air i am cleansed but left unchanged
the innocence within me ever the same

on yielding horizon i spot hope in land
but i hold my sinking ship with wanting hands
to understand the envy of a drowning man
