You Amaze Me

Crumbled faces deteriorating normalcy
So clear as to why I fight the cause
Kill the ignorance that once filled your head 

Strawberry ecstasy filling your heart
Seedlings evaporating into a new cherry completeness 

An archaeological existence

Brushing off dirt only to find coal-stained awareness 

Awareness in circular drifts
Spinning around in counter-clockwise motions
Yet not moving at all

Patterns within these leaves of contingence
Within my surreal existence
If I could tear every shard of my skin
Tearing away so that dizziness is obscure
Hula hooping around decisions that don’t make sense 

Pruning into the evergreens that fill this sword 

Cutting through every stitch

Every glitch that defines you 

Every chord is emulated in me 

Every time I look at you
The disco balls of time erase me 

Face me

So that all I can see is an unholy face 

A race from here to now
And yet
Somehow, it makes me complete 

Almost elite in your presence

Immeasurable how enigmatic I feel
Unreachable the way I can penetrate all your thoughts 

How this etch-a-sketch reality turns circular
How the cuticles of time rewind to something familiar 

Ape-like in nature
But so identifiable

A feeling so intense
I can’t grasp it
Can’t latch onto this gold awareness
This metal sufficiency
So entangled in everything that is emulated through your words 

So profound
So astound
You amaze me
