Deadly Sin

Deadly Sin

A Poem by Muketsu

"

A precious rose dances in the sunlight

A dancer moves through the meadow

She sings and dances to her own beat

Keeping her heart closely guarded.

Two men, handsome and strong

One takes her hand and the other takes her heart

She loves them both, keeping her secret.

"Come with me," they say.

Two men, handsome and strong.

A dark day comes

Blotting the precious rose from the sun.

The men find out her secret

Angry fire destroys the rose

"My wrath you shall feel," they call,

Swords flash and blood is shed

Men sitting, watching their mistake

Hearts breaking as one heart slows

Tears of sorrow, tears of pain flow like rivers.

Rose petals drift to the bloody battle as the woman falls

The dancing stops, never to begin again

A woman lies on the battle's floor

Bloodied and gone, her soul flies.

Guilt drives the men to depressing acts of pity

Two men, handsome and guilty

Fly from home and away for good.

Dead a precious one lies

The rose dies and never dances again.

What a sad poem. :( But very nicely written, nice comparison between love and war. :) I loved the dark desciption. One typo: "Blotting the precious rose from the su." should be 'sun', I think? (:
