When I Think Of You, I Do Stupid ThingsA Poem by Nykolas Andrews
When I think of you, usually, I do stupid things.
I think about all of the stupid things I’ve said to you and beat myself up for them while also bombing whatever work I’m doing for school. I think of all the times you’ve helped me out and hope there is some higher power out there I can think for having you around, even if I don’t wanna be. I think of all the times we just talked for hours about nothing and think of other things I could’ve said to make it that much funnier while randomly laughing in the middle of wherever I happen to be and getting stared at funny. I think of all the times we didn’t have an actual conversation for a couple of days or more because you weren’t in a great mood, and I didn’t want to make it worse, and I think of how I feel like our friendship being worn like a stone. When I think of you, I make really odd and possibly stupid analogies even if I’m turning it in for a school assignment. But if we don’t etch our friendship back into the stone, we’ll forget what it was, if we haven’t already. When I think of you, sometimes, I smile. © 2015 Nykolas AndrewsAuthor's Note
