Cell Block

Cell Block

A Poem by Nyida Strong

Lost and controlled
by unknown hands.
I'm longing for a freedom
never to be had.

Stuck in a cell
with no windows
no doors.
How did I get in?
How do I get out?

Screaming within a
grey cell with
no help coming,
no rescue.

There has to be a way,
must be some hope
or all is lost and
I am as good as dead.

What I read here was a story of depression, locked away within your own mind... and feelings. Not in control and yet your only hope out is yourself.

This was a great and enjoyable read. Just the situation itself of being alone with no hope or connection with humanity and all you have to survive is you, the time and circumstances along with the decisions you have to make in order to be free. Sounds quite overwhelming to some people yet others imbrace the challenge. Great write here. I really enjoyed your unique and profound writing style. :)
