Missing You

Dedicated to my friend, Meff, who passed away Monday, October 19, 2009.

Though only a month

it feels like a year.

I miss you, my friend,

and wish you were here.

 

I miss our chats

and our long talks.

And at my poetry

you'd never bawk.

 

I miss your words

so sweet and kind

And how I'd cry

and you'd not mind.

 

You'd remind me I'm strong

when I was on the edge.

Without a touching hand

you'd pull me from the ledge.

 

Taken too young

before your story was ended

before your love was ready

leaving her with a heart unmended.

 

You are missed and loved

would that I could

have known you longer.

Perhaps I should?

 

Five years was the time we had

that's it, that's all.

It wasn't nearly enough,

not enough at all.

 

 

I miss you Rodney.

i agree with destinee. i really like this so much.
i love the lines:

it's really sad to lose a friend. for so many years that you're with him, it's impossible for you not to miss him. at least, you still have memories of him.

Losing someone you love is so difficult and i think you are a very strong person for writing about your loss.
