Collateral Damage

Collateral Damage

A Poem by nyi

Your vanity is bad for my health

Through every single puff of my cigarette

Wish I could smoke you out of me

Draining away my youth and vitality in the process

Without you lung cancer could just be a life saver

For everything now is in black and white, grey and dull

You stripped away my joyful colors of life

From collision of our lives I searched for bliss

What bounced back as the misery terrorizing my dream

You keep chopping off my soul with your silences

Like we are now perfect strangers in two different worlds

And I am still so much in love with you

I guess that fact is no more than collateral damage to you now

This means more than something to me..Although I can feel your pain, I also laughed with a few of the lines..I know another who's vanity is destroying my soul and If smoking would help to rid him from my thoughts, I'd puff away.
