For You

For You

A Poem by Nik

We pillow fight the mattress
duvet wrestle ourselves into position

then pebble-skim sleep.
In the distance the seashell rush

of the motorway, closer
the leafy rustle of the bedding.

Face-to-face we parachute float
our shared descent, as we have

so many times. Now there is nothing
but breath, almost as softly expelled

as love, my love. I whisper the words
and alight in it’s warmth. I dream of you.

There are some amazing images in here. Some part of me wants to see more of a longer poem so I can settle into the language of the poems more, but I like what you have :) keep writing
