MY MOM USED TO TELL ME

THAT EVERYTHING IS SEEN BY YOURLORD.

TODAY I WANNA ASK MY LORD

IS THERE REALLY ANY GOD??????

THAT DAY WHEN

MY PARENTS WERE SHOOTED,

ALL MY BELIEFS

LINKED WITH YOU WERE UPROOTED.

MY HANDS WERE DYED RED

WITH MY OWN PARENTS' BLOOD.

IF REALLY GOD HAD SEEN ALL THAT

THEN WHY MY CRY WASN'T HEARD??????

WHY THOSE PEOPLE STANDING AROUND ME,

SUDDENLY TURNED WILD?????

THEY ONLY CARED FOR THEIR RELIGION

BUT FORGOT THAT I WAS A MERE CHILD.

IN NUMEROUS RELIGIONS,

WHY HAVE WE DIVIDED OUR GOD??

I DON'T WANNA DEFINE MY RELIGION,

AND I DONT WANNA BELIEVE IN SUCH GOD.

Very deep and touching piece. I too battle to understand/believe that there is a God. So many questions I'd like to ask.

I believe in the Native America way. Be kind to man, nature and animal. One earth/one people. I do believe in Karma. I truly people who had lived a good life find people and comfort. A powerful poem. Left something for the reader to think about.
