BED OF ROSES

BED OF ROSES

A Poem by Nupur

Now the time has passed, I lost the love,
I thought would last
Like the tree that's dropped it's leaves,
all you can see is empty shell
I'm the one that hurts like hell, wishing,
I'd never opened
my heart, now that dwells
Like throwing it down, the shaft of a well
Going from a bed of roses to a confused soul,
has left me bruised, and simply cold
Like the footprints, left in the snow
What direction do I face, north, or south?
When all I wanted, is a man, without a doubt
Now all I want is to scream, and shout aloud
East, or west, I've done my best, hurts so bad,
it's left me sad, and inside kind of mad
The roses that were on my bed,
have withered and left for dead
The person beside me is no longer there
Now, I will be more aware, like those doves,
who lost their way
I'll wake up tomorrow morning, to start a new day
My heart is broke but I'll be okay
