Let's Have Ourselves A Political Party (Opposites)

Let's Have Ourselves A Political Party (Opposites)

A Poem by J. R.

Something's shaking the country up
And it sure isn't any fun
When we sit down to decide
What must be done

You say punctual, I say belated
You say voter, I say educated
You say military, I say intelligence
You say television, I say substance

I think it's time we set it all aside
Gathered up all our friends
And formed ourselves a party
through which we'll meet our ends

You say censorship, I say profanity
You say talk radio, I say sanity
You say government, I say competent
You say news media, I say relevant

We're getting nowhere quickly
Let's just face the sad, sad fact
That we simply can't get along
And opposites never attract

And you say business, I say morality
You say fashion, I say individuality
You say corporate, I say ethics
You say truth, I say politics

It's called the Coffee Party.

It's nice to know you're not an ultra-right wing nut. I get paranoid about them on the internet. I'm fine with regular right wing, just not the kind that overuse the word socialism and think Obama's a muslim.
