They'll Never Know (Never ever)

They'll Never Know (Never ever)

A Poem by J. R.
"

I'm being vague about this one on purpose. What do you think it means?

"
There's a man on the screen that they adore
A girl in the corner, a smiling, precious face
They hear a knock on the door
And if this were your home, you'd be there

There's writing on the wall for all to see
And the people inside are not as they were
The writing's on the wall
And it says "They will never know"

The usual suspects in a nice, neat row
There's a skinhead, a housewife, A veteran with one hand
They match one with the gun
And now the case is done

And the writing on the wall says
"The will never know"
Where did they go?
"They will never know"

Somber undertones. Kind of makes me feel like an assasination has been solved, but the solution is not exactly the right one, and it doesn't matter because "they'll never know." but that is so sad....two lives lost...one dead...one locked up. nothing fixed.....life goes on in the land of ignorance.

Well written and quite intriguing.
cheers!

'And if this were your home, you'd be there'
there is something both enlightening and creepily chilling about that line.

I kind of get a sad, futile feeling about this scene. All the information is there, "They will never know" is frequently at the center of tragic situations. Nice compact impression, good job.
