Red (To Your Health)

Red (To Your Health)

A Chapter by J. R.
"

Let's start with red, a warm, intense color

"
Pull on the lever
Rig the game and reap the coins
Run for the rosy hills
Fall behind as everyone joins

Now dig it in
Let it run
And walk it off

You say "I'm going to gut you"
I hear "We jumped the gun"
Hold up your lenses
And stare deep into the sun

And it hurts
To see the world
And stand and wait
For the coming crimson

A maze of lights
With walls of sound
You can't be a hero
With you head in the ground

Stand up straight
Look ahead
Answer the question
And make it loud

Speeding for square one
Please step out of the car
Unlock your cranium
And put the brain in the jar

to my health? yikes. lol. I'm not feeling so good....

Interesting concept. Although this can't be achieved with the options on WC. If you were to publish this with the letters in red, make the background paper color a complimentary gray of red. That would keep the red hue but soften it to be easier to read.

I'm all for experimenting. Relating the title, poem message and type color are interesting if all are completely connected. So far, so good. Some might perceive it as too "gimmicky" and dismiss it. Such are the chances artists take.

You have one triplet with the rest quatrains.... (cool poetry jargon eh?) I'm not one for strict poetry form, just look at my haphazard poems, lol. But again some might take umbrage over it. Just some observations. Art is for the artist; for the rest, it's to learn what we didn't know we needed.
