The In Crowd (Yes Yes Of Course)

The In Crowd (Yes Yes Of Course)

A Poem by J. R.
"

A song about the irresistible joy of conformity

"
I was a singularity through most of my years
'Til I found sweet freedom through my peers
They say jump, I say how high
You say hello,we say goodbye

Our thoughts and actions are in sync
It's just easier to be told what to think
Just tell me what's up, I'll believe every word
Think for myself? Man, That's just absurd

I always had this impulse in my brain
To become a link in a greater chain
No matter what they're gonna do, I will just go along
wearing the same clothes and singing the same song

I'm part of the in crowd and you don't understand
What's it like to be a member of our merry band
I can  tell just by looking at you
You want to be a member too

The title is a magnet for this poem, it drew me in as soon as I saw it sitting off to the side. And, yes, this is witty sarcasm rolled into "yes, yes, of course."

I think this is such a cool poem. It seems kinda sarcastic to me, but in a good way. The perfect poem is the kind that everyone gets a different taste from. At least thats what I think. Anyways, I loved it. :)

I have to agree with Sammie Raine. I did get a kick out of this in a good way, because I too am the complete opposite. I am my own person, I say, do, dress, act etc etc with my own mind and however I please. This is definitely one write that'll leave those who do act like this, no matter the age, to think and actually ponder whether this is the life they want to live. Great write, I love the truth of the words.

Yes, great flow and definitely shows how some people are. Though I can't say I relate to it because I'm not like that a lot of people I know are. Very amazing write. Great job, keep writing!

I found this funny, in a good way. I am the complete opposite of your words, and it made me think how people never grow out of that, no matter how old they get. Amazing write.
