Losing Sheep

Losing Sheep

A Poem by nukamichianpaux

Losing sheep, I've lost my sheep,
they ran away from me.
Jolly, Holly, Polly, Molly,
now I'm lost as I can be.

Losing sleep, I'm losing sleep,
I lay awake at night.
I haven't slept in near a month,
by Gods, I'm such a sight.

Losing sleep, I'm losing sleep,
the bed I just can't mount.
I close my eyes, I'm wide awake,
I have no sheep to count.

... brilliantly poetic ... so dark ... yet so mesmerizing ... so moving ... and yet so melodious ... you've done so much magic with a common image that we're all familiar with ... and with such simplicity ... eloquence and elegance ... ravishing poetry ... very, very poignant ... it just grows on the reader till one reads it again and again ... i just read it thrice and am bound to return to it again ... "I have no sheep to count" is an immensely memorable line ...

Why is it our worst moments haunt us when we try to sleep? I have no sheep to count indeed. I feel that.
