The path of YouthA Poem by nukamichianpauxI once walked along that path of blossoming youth, so green and healthy
the grass, lengthy and lush,
felt cool to the bottoms of my feet
the vibrant flowers of many colors,
scarlet, gentle pink, and calming blues,
surrounded me every where I looked
and rid me of all my troubles
the path was much of a holder
of all my golden memories
the kind you never forget
cherish, and wish for times as such again
the elegant assortment of
dogwoods and cherry
align the path with accenting beauty,
cradling chipper cardinals and blue birds
I was a perfect example
of optimism at its finest
without stress and pure
free of any sins
but as my life began to proceed
each glorious detail began to fade
the blades of grass became browner
and dryer with each passing day
the flowers faded
I had never realized
how sunny my life had been
until it all began to blow away
I'd give more than anything
just to have those bright days
to be able to smile, and mean it
to be truly happy at heart
I'd give anything to walk to path of youth
