I do (I did)

I do (I did)

A Poem by Nuella Onyilofor
"

a poem i wrote after seeing a series of pictures of an abandoned amusement park.

"

An arc, a bend, a hollow,

a carcass

an abandoned amusement park:

rust, fading, a shadow of past splendour.

Dust covered seats, and desolate

dark chandelier- precarious in its hanging;

a cobweb filled theatre,

(its standing, remaining, being,

tells a story of the past)

life made it whole… it used to live there,

just as love lived here.
