Women's lib

Women's lib

A Poem by Mary Beth Mason
"

What can I say? I don't like women's lib.

"

I was watchin' one of those talk shows - You know the kind where they b***h about men.

I got to laughin' at some of the things they were sayin'.

Their complaints I didn't understand.

They say they're into Women's Lib.

Well, I guess it ain't for me.

I just hope they boycott and go on strike and leave all of the men for me.

They don't like for me to whistle at them because it makes them feel low down.

They take offense at a man who has the nerve to offer them a hand.

I don't understand what their problem could be. Maybe I've lived in the country too long.

But I wish they'd catch them and give me a call - I've been waiting for them all along.

I like for a man to offer his hand and hold a door open for me.

What you might call old fashinoned, I call common courtesy.

You can call me naiive and beind the times, I reckon that's true, indeed,

But I'll be damned if I'll ever need a group to tell me how a man should be treatin' me.

Now don't get the wrong impression girls, I'm all for equal rights.

But don't confuse a patronizing man with one who's been brought up polite.

You can call me naiive and behind the times, I reckon that's true, you see.

But I'll be damned if I ever need a group to tell me how a man should be treating me.

About
I live in a small Kansas town and was once a country music singer who recorded a couple of songs that I wrote and sang, back in 89/90. They made it onto Cashbox, and were reviewed by Robert Oerman o.. more..
