To You, My Friend

reality is not such a bad thing

You have abandoned me

but it is nothing I don’t know

reality has set in

along with a stronger feeling

and now I don’t feel much anymore

I can look upon our past

and I no longer wish of what used to be

you have moved on 

and so have I

I’ve often replayed in my mind

of how it could be

but I’ve realized now

that this lacks all feasibility

it is not meant to be

I know that now

I have all of this truth around me now

so I don’t have to hide

but I do feel that

you still do care

deep beneath the stains of time

I do not blame you for your absence

that is not a burden to bear

 just always know that I still do care

for you my friend,

I will always be there

Good poem. It conveys your feelings well, of accepting the reality of lost love/friendship. My only critique is that I feel you could have elaborated a bit. It feels a bit generalized, and I would have loved to see your heart shine through by being a tad bit more specific. What you have is great, I wouldn't take any of it away or change it. I would just add more, mi amigo.
