Hope

when someone has such a profound effect on your life, though they've long been absent in it, you still have hope that you will see them again

I am better than I’ve been
I am happier now because I can look back now
and not be bitter
not be engulfed by sadness
to be most grateful now
though it still hurts to look
because some of the jealous venom
remains in this wound
but I have remembered that
my love is still true
you still remain
but to serve as my fondest memory
yes i still love you
yes you remain
but as to remind me
that I should have hope
I have been warned to stop believing
to abandon all faith
but I have had worse odds
besides what do I have left to lose
you are my dream that floats among the clouds
and glides along the wind
I can hear you call my name
and it is for this I have my hope
