Brownies on Valentine's Day

Brownies on Valentine's Day

A Poem by Nat.
"

Lonely on Valentine's Day

"

Right here I sit,

On this lonely couch,

My jeans unbuttoned,

For they no longer fit;

All day long

I spent making sweets,

Now I’m stuffing myself

With these treats;

My love he left me,

He broke my heart,

Locked it in a box

And threw away the key;

Now I sit

On this day of love,

My heart broken and pained,

Yet he’s out there happy and queer;

My chocolate brownies

My only love,

On this lonely Valentine’s Day

My chocolate I will never get rid of.

Ah, the evil twin of Valentine's Day: Single's Awareness Day. And the eternal companion, chocolate. It's nice to see the other side of the coin, without endless moaning about lost love.

Yes, chocolate the best indulgence.
