WAITING GAMEA Poem by nastassialife taken for grantedThe darkness escapes him as he takes his last breath Revealing something about him, he didn’t even know about his own self Memories of his life flash before his eyes, focus lost and darkness becomes him The darkness he thought that left his body when he dies, has come back to haunt him Even in the afterlife he is miserable, distraught and in pain All the days that he lived out, for what? Questions unanswered, and plans unfinished, dreams left unspoken Life just ends for him with no reason as to why Aiming to be a better person, but realized too late in his life Tragic death unexpected, soul torn into pieces and thrown like a carcass on the side of the road What he wouldn’t do to have another chance, to start all over and do things right this time around Hands ice cold, lips chapped and no where a sound All by himself in his own tortured thoughts, left behind and abandoned Sadly a feeling he is all too familiar with Darkness overpowers him little by little, spreading like an epidemic he cannot shake All he can do is wander, because at the end of it all its just a waiting game © 2015 nastassiaReviews
