Rainbow Hate

Rainbow Hate

A Poem by Rainbow Skank

I drown myself with hate
Escaping my own fate
Down the empty hall
There's no one left to call upon
There's no fantasy left to run to
Nothing left to hold on to
No more running away
It's not the time to escape
They've already met their fate
And here I am, drowning, full of hate
In my reflection
I cannot see any truth
I hate my reflection
Only I keep hiding from the truth

Instead of facing myself, I stray
There's always a long empty hallway
Trying not to hurt myself
Trying not to confuse myself farther away

There lies the key
Hidden underneath
To unlock my soul from beneath
It's almost fully clear to me

The opening
The end of the hall is very bright
I am now awakening
Walking into the bright vivid light
I can see the clouds fading away
Maybe this is it, I can see what's deep inside
Rainbows and rays of light appear not too far away

No longer do I have to escape, no more running away
Deep within me, out of the depths of this ugly beast,
I have finally found the rainbow, out of my hate
I have found the light through the dark
No more shall I try to run away.

I liked that at times you had a rhythm and rhyme going though I don't think it was intentional. I liked the message of hope, of finding that rainbow and letting go of the hate inside. Nice job. I enjoyed.
