A Little Brown BirdA Poem by Anonymous WriterThis poem is for peoples who have feelings of doubt or selfworth in their lives. If they ever find themselves alone while the world tries to push them over, spread your wings and fly to a better place
on a branch i once did see
like the mud that lay below a little brown bird before me It sat lonely in a state of sorrow The autumn wind that swept away the summers heat Blew at the bird from today until tomorrow forgotten in gods apparent beauty it sat lonely in a trance viewing the land called home dead to life's little dance A yellow beak glistened, and beady eyes wandered The bird gazed amongst a land filled, With the beauty and grace, of autumn wonder Colors of the trees, made a sight to be kept still Leaves of red and yellow signalling a soon slumber Slowly the gusts began to quicken And the bird looked in fright innocent eyes would soon be sickened At a storm that blew in the night the rains quickly thickened forming a blanket of devils tears from sight the bird had never belonged in the place it looked around at the tragic beauty Illuminating the plainness of its face finally it thought this was not to its suiting so it stretched its wings taught full of gods true beauty Nothing more majestic could ever be sought It took flight above the land of color and might Rising above grey clouds into the sky of blue and white It was truly the loveliest thing god had thought In its element of freedom at last © 2011 Anonymous Writer |
