Old and NewA Poem by Nancythis is a poem with a messageRead another story Like the ones that have been told By the people who lived life Creating worlds of old Imagining their eyes As they mist upon the works Tears fall on black and white Blood flows between each word The poets and the versifiers Songwriters and the bards Pull from mans emotion, Wisdom, hate and love We’ve taken from the Earth All we needed to survive We’ve written of its beauty But ignored it’s wounded side Careless, we proceeded And used more than our share We're destroying all its glory Without a thought or care Write another story While we still have ink and pen A story about days to come Can we begin again? Basking in the beauty Of a world so newly sown Tell a tale that ends in us Preserving our lone home
