A Poem by Anonymous

Writing you poems
like throwing coins
in fountains.
Miracles happen.
I'm silently shouting.
it's against the law -
but if love is a card game -
I'm counting
down to the day when I'm
no longer upholding your crown,
blowing dust off your shoulders
making sure my touch
doesn't get you any colder.
Everybody says
I'm too straightforward.
I'd say more forward than straight,
apparently,
not even once was it a date.
Just friends sipping wine
exchanging tipsy sexy vibes
painting colorful pictures
of us
under the stars
talking till it's no longer dark
we got our thighs interacting
my stomach drops.
I swear I'm listening
it's not distracting.
You said you'll meet
your love in 2016
I'm here,
waiting to be seen.
I swear I'll quit,
just another hit.
Miracles happen -
I'm silently shouting.
 - to M.A.

I love it. You have a way with words that captures me into them leading me on with a hunger to know more and more. You are great at keeping my attention throughout the whole piece, while simultaneously telling a story, evoking emotion, and imagery.

This poem felt like it had a light touch behind it, enchanting; a soft tale told true, which I enjoyed.

Keep writing.

Much love,

LR

The imagery in this piece was something special. It made me smile a bit by the time I'd finished reading; this is one of the best pieces I've read in some time. :)

Unrequited feelings are a real plague, but I love how you wove in other things like comparing it to a drug addiction toward the end, along with the opening four lines that stood out amazingly to me.

Stellar, stellar work. I'm glad I read this.
