Chapter 2

Dan awoke the following day to the wet and miserable Wednesday, this day was always the hardest for Dan as it meant he was only just reaching the half way mark to the week meaning he had to go through it all again. He had performed his morning routine so many times he could go through room to room like bee from a flower to the next requiring little time in each. He performed each task soullessly and with out thought, this was the only time he would ever find his head empty as if he was yet to actually wake from his slumber. Before he left the house he would check his planner for the day to see what lessons and challenges he would have to overcome before his day would end. The first was English a subject that Dan had previously excelled out in his earlier schools, but that was a lifetime ago before the incidents that led to him becoming the person of today. Now he was slacking the poetry had lost its rhythm and the literature it's beauty, it had all become dull and confusing to Dan. The words of love were like a foreign language to him and the subtext the ravings of a crazy man.

It didn't take long much time into the lesson before Dan became lost and bored in the world of the great poets. It seemed that the messages behind the poems were avoiding the grasp of his mind and once again Dan retreated into the confined tomb of his body. His icy blue eyes lost focus on the words that stood so bold i front of him and his imagination took over. The students around him were all busy talking and discussing as they annotated the poems and completed the task at hand, but Dan was not with them he was else where parted from his body and exploring the land of his imagination for that one thing he really wished for.

Time was short before he was so cruelly ripped from the safety of his lands and back to the cruel lands of the class room that mocked him. What had brought him back to this world was the mention of his name, but from which person was now the only thing on his mind. His eyes dashed around surveying the figures sat around him many of them friendly faces, many judging. The realisation came when again his name was spoken only this time the letters sliced into his head like a knife, he bolted around to see his teacher looming over him. Her voice slithered into his ear commanding that he show her the work that he was meant to have completed, when he did not comply she requested his presence at the end of the lesson. The rest of the lesson was spent preparing for what awaited him building up a barrier and reinforcing the skin to soften any blows that could be landed upon him.

The bell rang out signalling the start of the torture that Dan was about to go through. He placed his belongings into his bag as fast as he could and left it there as he began to head over to the battle of the minds he was about to face, he ran through every possible out come as he slowly made his way past other students leaving his mind prepared he was ready. But he didn't plan for the events that were about to take place. He closed his eyes to help visualise his enemy when he collided with something sending him stumbling backwards. As he opened his eyes he saw the object that had broken his concentration, a girl with long blond hair that was now knocked out of formation by the collision covering her face. She was a petty girl dressed in clothes that wear baggy as in an attempt to hide her figure and therefore the attention of prying eyes. As she looked up her magnificent hazel eyes came to with his own committing all of his attention in a trance like gaze. Her voice was as smooth as silk as it blessed his ears with words asking for forgiveness, he was unable to answer due to his admiration of her. She broke out smile so beautiful it knocked Dan out of his trance like state as he realised what a fool he was making of him self and the chances he had of happiness with the goddess in front of him. Through fear of yet more embarrassment his mind cleared the pink haze that had clouded his instincts and he continued his Mach to the war awaiting him.
