A Poem by Michael Sabino

Hiss
Smoke breath
Angels on the water
Serpents on the linen

She leaves trails
God, how does she
Unparalleled
Leaves me scattered like a mist

I've got a few
It's an addiction
It's a collection
I barely touch them

It's easy to know
Someone's closing in
Be my Hangaku Gozen
I'll push and scream

My mouth is just a hole in the earth
"Precious
You're too close
I don't want to fill up with dirt

Be my demon-slaying Kali"
I don't mean it even if I mean it
