American Monarchy

American Monarchy

A Poem by Jack
"

Wrote this a while after the worlds economies started to get in trouble

"

In America they still have a monarchy,

When the government got bought out by the companies.

Queen at&t, King AIG,

Their tax was in loans and credit card fees.

Nixon the poster boy,

Reagan the director.

Smile and wave happily,

As you signed their bits of paper.

A new proletariat and bourgeoisie,

That’s when they became aristocracy.

Sub prime mortgages taking our houses for free,

Taking houses, jobs, money, then leave.

Then stock market crash,

Lehman Brothers fell,

They all ran to daddy,

Asked him to make it well.

But daddy could no longer fund your ways,

The people would no longer be your slaves.

The politicians said you have to pay,

But backstreet deals made them go away.

Now we all know your secret sins,

No longer will we be such fools,

No longer will we fall for your tricks,

No longer will you get the money, whilst we pick up the bricks.
