I haven't said it yet, but I love you.

I haven't said it yet, but I love you.

A Poem by nosuchsafety

"I can feel your heart beat," I whisper,
nervous that whatever comes out of my mouth shouldn't.
"I can feel my heart beat, too," he smiles, then scrunches his eyebrows.
"But, strangely, I can't feel yours..."
I think about saying something like,
'Maybe I'm a robot,'
or
'I told you I was a ghost.'
'Perhaps I'm dead,' I think about telling him,
but I don't feel dead,
not in his arms on this couch,
never with him.
He moves his hands across my ribs.

"Ah. There it is."
