You didn't expect that to stay, did you, darling?

You didn't expect that to stay, did you, darling?

A Poem by nosuchsafety
"

for the contest, What is the color of impossible?

"
The color of impossible
is
white.
A spill of spaghetti on the last cotton t-shirt you owned,
a tear in the seams of your first homecoming dress,
a paint drip on paper that you just didn't want to put there.
White will fade,
smoking helps that, and toothpaste doesn't work wonders, my dear.
Nobody wants their white to be cream,
and cream is the future,
because the color of impossible
is
white.
Even a clear computer page is dirty when you haven't cleaned your screen,
and no artist can leave white things white for long.
You've got beautiful white walls in your home, friend,
but your three year old son changes things.
I see red, I see purple, I see plenty of black,
but pure white
never
ever
lasts.
