It's interesting to think you'd ever like me.

It's interesting to think you'd ever like me.

A Poem by nosuchsafety

I used to look at you behind sunglasses
while the rest of the world looked through me.
You saw nothing.
I used to glance your way in a cafeteria that smelled of melted cheese,
back when I didn't know you,
but I wanted to,
and you never
ever
ever
saw me.
I used to wish I had the courage to walk up and say hello,
I used to wish that maybe I'd accidentally bump into your shoulder.
I used to think that someday you'd smile at me.
Two minutes ago I took huge steps on a bridge,
my hands in a big green army jacket,
making myself finally walk beside you,
and I said,
"Did you know that, in an average lifetime, a human consumes forty pounds of dust?"
You saw me then,
but you didn't see me,
and not another word was spoken.

I have a thing for run-ons, it's just how my mind spills onto paper these days.
True story, by the way. Quite the pick up line I had. -_-

Wow....I really, really like this! I've felt this way before, but never found a way of writing it out, so kudos!
