Love me.

Love me.

A Poem by Lee W. Deason

Excuse me beautiful but can't you see the grass is growin.
And we're not getting any younger. Just please let me walk.
Around the world cause I just wanna talk about life tonight.
But it's cruel when you know there's only bad expressions.

To love who I want to love.
Just please tell me it's okay.
To love who I want to love.

I found a mess sitting on the floor. With it's back to the wall.
Fear was found tangled in his hair with a storm of cuss words.
Cause this fever keeps him up for days, and he can't sweat it out.
But it's cruel when you know you've both been hitting the snooze.

To love who you want to love.
Just let me live long enough.
To love who I want to love.

Don't you try and stop me.
I don't need rules to justify.
Why I don't have a time line.
Cause it ain't cheap baby.
Playing it cool when I donno.

If I can believe the value of this mistake.
For what it's worth to say it's better this way.
For what it's worth I'm trying to say " Please."

Just let me live long enough. (Fear was found tangled in his hair.)
To love who I want to love. (With a storm of cuss words.)
To love who I want to love. (And he can't sweat it out.)
Just let me live long enough. (Excuse me beautiful but can't you see)
To love who I want to love. (I just wanna talk about life tonight.)
To love who I want to love. (I just wanna talk about life tonight.)
