Just play really loud.

Just play really loud.

A Poem by Lee W. Deason

This is a warning call.
You are still in yesterdays clothes and you've got no clue.
Of whats happened to you.
This is a lucky fall.
As I flail for the theater to smirk like they're a cut above us.

Cause we're all acting out.
From what we have to say.
Simply biased just because.
It's easier this way.

On the ride home.
You are still in yesterdays clothes and you've got no clue.
Of whats about to happen.
I never called home.
Instead I was arrested by the night and I started to fade.

Cause we're all acting out.
From what we have to say.
Simply biased just because.
It's easier this way.

But my left hand is unable on your table.
To serve you any good at all.
I'd rather rot in hell than be put on show and tell.

I am a display for your children.
Children without vision.
To read the lie off of.
So you can get off the way you'd like.

Cause we're all acting out.
From what we have to say.
Simply biased just because.
It's easier this way.
To understand that some of us are damned.

intense. i felt the power behind the words - and the mixtures of emotions. anger, rightiousness, sadness, despair, intensity - all of it. it was a great combination

"Simply biased just because.

loved the way that read, and the way it flowed from the lines before it

Now I read this as a poem about the influence of TV on the world. There's various lines that allude to my reasoning, none more so than being in yesterdays clothes where there is a tendency to not bother with life any longer, get up in the same gear as the day before and switch on that TV. The warning call (of the news) theater (rubbish smug sitcoms) - children without vision again seems to promote my idea as well as 'acting out'.

I felt this was an entertaining read and fascinating that you made me think of a subject that was possibly nothing like you had envisaged.

"To understand that some of us are damned"
Hell yeah, that statement I understand all too well. I guess some of us is just born that way and left that way.

Lee this really was such a gripping cut throat piece. I just love how your pieces carry a lyrical element to them, which makes them an even great pleasure to read

Great work on this one
