Curtain for Julia

Curtain for Julia

A Poem by Dwayne Weweh

The window is naked

The flowers are blooming

The fast cars

And the blistering road

The church chimes

The ticking clocks

Everything seem to

Be in place, everything

But the glamour

The glamour of a star,

The star above the sun

Look at me, a pariah

Resigned to faith

Not to destiny though

I’m strong, perhaps

Strong enough to

Effuse my pains and

Gaze to the future

Through an angel’s eyes

I kiss a rose

Towards the east

Towards Julia

Towards my glamour

A star above the sun

My curtains are stretched

Towards your heart

Just trail on them

Cut my tears

With your silver linen

Fingers

And tread my fears with

Colours of hope......
