Hymns for Jossy

Hymns for Jossy

A Poem by Dwayne Weweh

Shalom beautiful fair nightingale

You prick my heart like the opal

Yet you are visibly as delicate

As the blond witch of glamour

With a bizarre charisma of chastity

Your beautifully cultivated witch-hazel

Pours some light into my blazed isle

Now the earth is like heaven

With the angels and loving saints

Singing merciful hymns of mercy

The words you bear trail my faith

Like a morning breeze in autumn

Your tender thoughts of the winds

Bear a garden of glory and tidings

Like a prayer of a gentle nimbus

You spear me yet another escapism

Of a sorrowful night in limbo

Jossy, shalom, shalom jossy
