AncientA Poem by LunarSong
I am still a kid, only seventeen,
Yet I've beheld many an ancient scene. In Salt Lake I once saw the Dead Sea scrolls, Written by scribes and stashed away in holes. Saved through the years from the raging weather, Left torn and delicate as a feather. I've played music penned centuries ago, 'Fore we lost "forte" after piano. I have read the words of authors long dead Words written with purpose, meant to be read. I've used the formulas and principles Drawn from simple things, like falling apples But created by the past's greatest minds Who could see the laws the universe binds. I walk on ground that's billions of years old That has seen all of history unfold. My very being is made of dust and stars- My soul is older than the dinosaurs. And I'm still young, only seventeen There's still so much I haven't yet seen! © 2015 LunarSongAuthor's Note
