In The Dark Of Night

In The Dark Of Night

A Poem by norman hale

In the dark of night
With the moon so bright
Lovers are holding hands
Kneeling by a pile of sand

They profess their love
To God above
With tears in their eyes
To them love is no surprise

In the dark of night
Their love feels right
Under this blanket of clouds
They could never be more proud

Up to this point, just holding hands
That's all between this woman and man
No one knows just how love grows
But everyone notices when it shows

They walk the beach late at night
Their love is a pure delight
As they walk, they make plans
Like, their future is in their hands

Yes, in the dark of night
Their love is so right
These lovers are so blessed
In their hearts, a love they've confessed
