Out In Arizona

Out In Arizona

A Poem by norman hale

Out in Arizona
Among the rocks and sand
There lives an Indian couple
Just living off the land

She lives in the tee-pee
With her dog and man
They are the last of the survivors
What's left of their clan

They are the last survivors
Of what was a great band
Now they just have each other
As they survive off this land

They have eaten lizards and snakes
And a few jackrabbits with the bows shot
They stay away from white man
And are thankful for all they got

They have never been blessed
To have children of their own
But, the love they have for each other
Is something that has always shown

Out around the bonfire
They do their tribal dance
This will last for hours
Before settling in for romance

Some day they may have a child
To pass on their tribal ways
But until then, they'll love each other
Right on through their Eternal days
