Two Little Girls On The Farm

Two Little Girls On The Farm

A Poem by norman hale

Two little girls
Went to stay on a farm
Each morning they was waken
By the old rooster alarm

They got to feed the calves
And help milk the cows
They got to play with the pigs
And help feed the sows

They got to play with the lambs
And feed the other sheep
They got to play with the colts
And give the horses hay to eat

They got to feed the chickens
And play with the baby chicks
They helped rake up the leaves
As well as pick up sticks

They got to play with the rabbits
And the bunnies went hop hop hop
When the girls tried to catch them
Those crazy rabbits wouldn't stop

They got to ride the ponies
And pet the donkeys too
Yes they had a blast
Before each day was through

They got to play with the dogs
And played with the puppies too
Then came the cats and kittens
It was almost like they was at the zoo

They got to run and play
All over that big old farm
But, just couldn't find the switch
To that old rooster alarm

I like this poem a lot. Creates a child-like notion in my head which has been lost to me for a long time now. Thanks for a great reading experience and make sure to write more in the future!
