He Hopes To Make It HomeA Poem by norman hale
There he stands
But, in his mind
With gun in hand
He kisses the picture
He's just a kid, forced
If he makes it back
When he drifts off to himself
He hopes to make it home
He prays on to God
Though danger can be any where
He thinks of his lovely wife,
He thinks of his mom and dad
Yes, he hopes to make it home
