That Arlington Grave

That Arlington Grave

A Poem by norman hale

There he lays
In that Arlington grave
For he was one
Of those, that truely gave

He gave his all
Right up to the end
Fighting for freedom
Beside his fellow men

He's one of so many
That truely gave it all
Never knowing when
His time should come to call

He lays right there
In a peaceful rest
With so many medals
penned there on his chest

Someday he'll rise
Come Judgement day
Then He'll be no more
Beneath the soil and clay

He won't have to tell
All that he's done
How he fought in a war
And died from a gun

With just a white cross
Marking his graves space
Waiting for the day
He'll see our saviors face

There are too many
lying there in that land
All waiting for the day
They feel Gods mighty hand
