Old Charlie

Old Charlie

A Poem by norman hale

Watch out for old charlie
Out in the woods by the lake
He's not just there to scare you
It's your soul he wants to take

He hides in the bushes
looking for little boys and girls
He don't care if the hair is straight
Or if it might even be in curls

After he catches one for his prey
He will carve them up into pieces
And cooks them over an open fire
What's left he'll throw  to the fishes

Old charlie escaped from prison
Where he carved up the warden
And when he was all done
He planted him in the garden

He sneaks and gets them
right out of their tents
Without making a sound
Or leaving the slightest scent

No one really knows where he's from
Or why he likes little girls and boys
But it seems that all his killings
Is where he gets all of his joys

So watch out for old charlie
Should you be out by the lake
Keep your eyes wide open
For it's your soul at stake
