Here I Lay

Here I Lay

A Poem by norman hale

Here I lay
Just counting sheep
Thinking of you
And losing sleep

We had a love
That was so rare
But, now it seems
That you never cared

We once had the world
In the palm of our hands
But it sifted through
Like grains of sand

Even though we are
So many miles a part
You know as well as I
You have a place in my heart

When you was in my arms
It seemed the world stood still
It was always about true love
And never just about the thrill

Yes. here I lay
Thinking about yesterday
Wondering why you left
Yet, your memory will forever stay
