Where are you?A Poem by Norma Gonzaleza daughter who waits for her loved oneWHERE ARE YOU
I've waited for many years I've waited for ages And I'm still waiting
The children at school would laugh You have no one You have no one but mama
My birthday came and I waited for your return No cake was served no music was played I waited
One day I saw mama open the door A man dressed in a uniform A man with such serenity A man holding a letter A man handing a flag With his gloved hands Mama cried Yet I still waited
Sitting outside my window looking up the moon "Where are you?" I said Where are you, papa? Where have you gone? I'm still waiting And waiting I'll stay
