As long as the leaves will fallA Poem by Marina N. LovrićThis is amongst the first poems I've written ; I was about 11,but I love it.
He sang her dirges
since the world beget and grew the first day until the final sunset As long as the leaves will fall and the winds will blow his love for her as an amaranth will grow Ashen cold his teardrops fall , through lugubrious winter he hears her call Rivers he cried to her grave he came ; still he can hear her whispering his name Under the willow her penumbra he sees as tears from his eyes fall like leaves of a tree During the first snow he thought of her eyes , lying under their tree that carries her name Life for a life ; she had to be saved ; he trades his life for a sleep in the grave She opened her eyes and awoke from eternal sleep ; loath for life was reborn as the blade cut deep Once she merged with the knife ; she understood the meaning of life Demise greeted her again as she walked to the door , where he stood saying ; "I can give you nothing more" In oblivion two dead dreams dwell , swallowed by the void deep ; to this world farewell until they defy the eternal sleep Their hands entwined as they ceased to be ; they left this realm like a withered tree © 2018 Marina N.
