Richard recommend that I read your Sonnets, as I posted my first sonnet (first sonnet or poem I have ever posted anywhere) here on WritersCafe.and, he appreciates your work.
I really enjoyed your words... I felt it was magical...
I just read your response to a review and that was indeed another wonder sonnet..You certainly have a way to make your words rhyme and flow so beautifully.

of helping me to hold the sonnet's ground
defend against encroaching free verse weed,
and spread iambic meter all around
The battle though, is hardly in the bag,
as artists of great skill have joined the foe
When even Fido gives his tail a wag
at verses where rhyme knows no place to go
Old Shakespeare might roll over in his grave,
at seeing verses with naught but just the word
Gad Zooks, my friends, there must be more to crave
yet they persist and grow, or so I've heard.
With help of folks like Verse, I hold the line
The sonnet lives, and it will do just fine

I did mean to ask, is your name an anagram, by any chance? If so, we need to get you a new name, I should think... :):)

About twenty-five years ago, I decided to join one of the early sites on the WWW. The site requested that I select a username. I was in the midst of reading 'Beric The Briton' a novel by GA Henty. The last word that I remembered reading from that book at the time, was the name of one of his characters 'Norbanus'. So I stole it. Later, a friend seperated it as Norb and Anus. By that time it had stuck. So, I have since been the leader of the Anus clam.
Your post is about your vision of the earth and is written in more than fine, fine verse, phrasing senstive to your thoughts. So, am i allowed to disagree about the earth doing fine. As a horticulturist i know differently. YES, those 'gallant species that are dead' are beneficial and far better than some of the manufactured stuff that might, in time, be banned as has happened in the past. But, beware what's going on about Earth, there are more problems than ever have been in every part of the planet.
Forgive please, my review should be about your skill as a writer, which is more than fine.. and then one takes the flow of the theme, and, that's near perfect. However, the theme is what you've written about and so, becomes a focal point.. Perhaps?
This is a fun poem and cleverly written BUT, although the earth may be absorbing 'gallant species that are dead', it cannot absorb the tiny plastic spheres which are polluting the oceans. We are rapidly heading for living on a non-biodegradable rubbish dump. Better than a nuclear wasteland ... perhaps, but my heart bleeds for Nature's wildlife and plants.
You have made a strong statement here. All the evidence points to the earth not doing fine. That's not a religious claim, its the result of meticulous observations. Of course scientists do make mistakes but they go back and start again. Once we get to the tipping point feedback mechanisms come into play and then we're in deep s**t. If you are telling people 'the earth is fine' you need evidence for it. We are now in a mass extinction event and that includes us!
regards,
Alan
I always enjoy reading your point of view, even when I don't agree, becuz you express yourself unapologetically & somewhat unequivocally. I go for more of the idea that all sides contain some kernels of The Truth. But your writing style is enjoyably sassy & it must be nice to be so sure. I have no room to talk, of course, becuz I simply don't care. If we f**k this up, we'll find a way to engineer some acceptable fantasy out of the resulting mess. I'm just glad I won't be here & I didn't bring any offspring to the upcoming party! *smile* Fondly, Margie

I think that thought every day when I'm trying not to let the current chaos get to me. I cling to my solitary peace here in the boondocks & just be glad I'm not long for this world. Let some other suckers fight it out now! *smile*
I agree my friend.
"The earth is doing fine, despite what’s said,
absorbing gallant species that are dead."
I lived four years on the Monterey, Ca. coastlines. After the fire. Dear nature rebirth quickly and more beautiful. We need nature. She doesn't need us. I enjoyed this poem and thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

Thanks, Coyote. I appreciate your delightful comments.
Norbanus is the leader of the Anus Clan, and has consumed his Biblically allocated three score and ten.
He is a hero of all the ages, having witnessed the birth of planets, the drowning of the eart.. more..
